16-Year-Old Arrested After Alleged Killing of Teenager in Gombe

The Gombe State Police Command has arrested a 16-year-old boy, Abbas Musa, in connection with the death of another teenager following an alleged disagreement in Nafada Local Government Area of the state.
The incident occurred at about 5:30 p.m. in Gudukku District, where Abbas Musa and 16-year-old Salisu Abdullahi reportedly had a misunderstanding.
During the disagreement, Abbas allegedly struck Salisu on the head with a stone, leaving him seriously injured.
Following the incident, Police detectives visited the scene and rushed the injured teenager to Gudukku Primary Health Care Centre for medical attention.
Salisu was, however, pronounced dead by a medical practitioner.
The Police subsequently arrested Abbas, who is currently assisting with the investigation.
The Command is expected to establish the circumstances surrounding the altercation and determine the appropriate legal action, taking into account the ages of both teenagers.
The incident highlights the need for parents, community leaders and youth-focused organisations to strengthen early intervention mechanisms for resolving disputes among young people before they escalate into fatal violence.
