36 abducted victims regain freedom in Zamfara

Thirty-six abducted persons have regained their freedom in Shinkafi Local Government Area of Zamfara following ongoing peace negotiations between bandit leader Bello Turji and residents of the area.
Zagazola learnt that the victims, comprising 22 males and 14 females, including a 60-year-old man identified as Adamu Kwankwami, were released on Wednesday unharmed and without conditions.
They were taken to the Shinkafi General Hospital for medical checks before being reunited with their families.
Meanwhile armed bandits have abducted three residents of Marke village in Yandoto District, Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The victims were identified as Liman Garba, aged 75; Usman Garba, 50; and Abdulrahman Haruna, 15.
The attack occurred in the early hours of Wednesday when the assailants invaded the community and whisked the victims away to an unknown destination.
Security operatives have been mobilized to the area, while efforts are ongoing to trace and rescue the abducted persons.
