Five persons have sustained varying degrees of injuries following a clash between farmers and Fulani herders at Down Graz community in the Mpape area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Zagazola report that the incident occurred at about 12:40 p.m. on Monday after a distress call was received at the Mpape Division.

Zagazola report that security forces were  immediately deployed to the scene where two herders and three farmers were found injured. The victims were rescued and taken to the Mpape Health Centre, where they are currently receiving treatment.

A cow with protruding intestines, reportedly stabbed during the altercation, was also recovered and later released to the herders on bond.

Investigation revealed that the herders had led their cattle into a beans and guinea corn farm belonging to one Abdullahi Musa. When confronted by Abdullahi’s brothers, a fight broke out, which later escalated and spread into the surrounding community.

Sources said the situation was promptly brought under control, and community leaders from both sides were invited for an emergency peace meeting.
