Alau Dam Flood Hits Maiduguri, Military Responds Swiftly to evacuate Civilians

Maiduguri, Borno State - In the early hours of today, 5/9/24, Alau Dam, a major water source in Maiduguri, overflowed, causing widespread flooding in the surrounding areas.
The swift response of soldiers in Alau ensured the evacuation of civilians to safer locations, mitigating potential casualties.
The General Officer Commanding (GOC) visited the affected Bulama and state holders, reassuring them of their safety and urging cooperation with security agencies deployed in the community.
He emphasized the importance of collective efforts in combating Boko Haram Terrorists (BHTs) and Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP).
In a show of solidarity, the State Secretary and Director of State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) also visited the affected village to assess the damage caused by the flood.
