Armed bandits launched coordinated attacks on Gidan Sule and Kwana Doka villages in Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State, killing three people and injuring two others, intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama on Sunday.

According to the sources, the attacks occurred at about 10:00 p.m. on Feb. 23, when heavily armed bandits stormed the villages, firing sporadically.

“At Gidan Sule, three people were shot dead, and several houses were set ablaze, while at Kwana Doka, two individuals sustained serious gunshot injuries and were rushed to General Hospital, Funtua, for treatment,” the sources said.

Upon receiving the report, a Police Armored Personnel Carrier (APC) Patrol Team swiftly mobilized to intercept the attackers at the Unguwar Ali/Kwankiro axis.

The security forces engaged the bandits in a fierce gun battle, forcing them to retreat into the nearby forest.
