Army repels Boko Haram/ ISWAP attack on Bama, killing many Insurgents

The Nigerian Army troops of the Joint Task Force (JTF) Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) have repelled an attack by Boko Haram/ISWAP on Bama Local government area of Borno State, killing many insurgents. 

 

The troops of 21, as Special Forces Brigade countered the attack by the terrorists who reportedly made attempt to infiltrate the town at about 7:30pm through the western  flanks with an unconfirmed number of ISWAP foot soldiers on Gun Trucks.

 

The troops troops swiftly  engaged the terrorists in a gun battle, forcing them to withdraw and ran toward the Sambisa forest, after many of them were killed and several others wounded. 

 

One soldier was also paid the supreme price during the encounter.

 

The troops were currently exploiting the area as  bloodstains were reportedly seen on the terrorists’ withdrawal route," a Competent Military sources told Zagazola.
