Bandits abduct village imam, five others in zamfara

Armed bandits have abducted the Chief Imam of Fangaltama village and five other persons in a fresh attack along the Gusau–Sokoto highway in Talata Mafara Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
Zagazola Makama was reliably informed that the attack occurred at about 3:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 18, when the gunmen stormed Fangaltama village, which is located opposite a military base, and opened fire indiscriminately.
The sources saiid during the attack, one female resident, identified as Basira Abdullahi, sustained gunshot injuries.
“The bandits abducted six persons, including the Chief Imam of the village, Liman Hamisu Ali, and five other residents,” he said.
Security forces stormed the general area to confront the bandits but they had already fled with the victims before the arrival of the security team.
