Bandits Kidnap Special Constabulary Officer in Katsina

Suspected armed bandits have abducted a Special Constabulary officer attached to the Faskari Division of the Katsina State Police Command along the Kankara–Sheme road.
Sources said the incident occurred on May 3 at about 7:00 p.m. when the victim, identified as Danjuma Garba, was kidnapped at Kwakware village by armed men reportedly led by a notorious kingpin known as Idi, also called Abasu Aiki.
The sources disclosed that the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Faskari immediately mobilised joint patrol teams to the area upon receipt of the report.
According to the sources, security operatives have since launched cordon and search operations aimed at rescuing the victim unhurt and tracking down the perpetrators.
They added that efforts have been intensified across the general area, while further developments will be communicated as investigation progresses.
