Borno: EOD team neutralises IED along Ngoshe–Pulka road in Gwoza LGA

The Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team of 82 Division Task Force Battalion on Friday successfully discovered and safely neutralised an improvised explosive device (IED) planted along the Ngoshe–Pulka Main Supply Route in Borno State.
Security sources said the incident occurred at about 10:00 a.m. during a routine route clearance operation ahead of the deployment of picketing troops along the axis in Gwoza Local Government Area.
The team reportedly detected the buried explosive device suspected to have been planted by Boko Haram terrorists along the strategic military route.
According to the sources, the EOD personnel promptly cordoned off the area and safely recovered and disposed of the device in situ, preventing what could have been a deadly attack on troops and civilians using the axis.
Military authorities said clearance operations along key supply routes in the theatre remain ongoing as part of efforts to deny terrorists freedom of action and safeguard movement within the area.
They assured that aggressive counter-IED operations would continue across vulnerable corridors in the North East.
