BYM Commends GOC 3 Armoured Division, Passes Vote of Confidence
The Berom Youth Moulders Association (BYM) has passed a vote of confidence on the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Armoured Division and Commander of Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), Maj. Gen. A.E. Abubakar, for his outstanding leadership in ensuring peace and security in Plateau State.
In a statement issued on Monday, January 8, 2025, and signed by the association’s National President, Barr. Solomon Dalyop Mwantiri, and Secretary General, Bature Adazaram Iliya, the group commended Gen. Abubakar’s proactive approach to tackling security challenges, which they said resulted in a peaceful yuletide and New Year celebration in Berom land and surrounding areas.
The statement highlighted the general’s commitment to collaboration with sister security agencies, civil society organizations, and ethnic groups in addressing criminality, banditry, and terrorism, which had previously affected the region.
“The unprecedented bumper harvest and peaceful festive season on the Plateau are direct results of Gen. Abubakar’s diligent and strategic leadership. His efforts reflect a passion for humanity and a dedication to protecting law-abiding citizens,” the statement read.
The BYM also praised Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, for fostering an enabling environment for security improvements. While acknowledging a security breach in Gidan Ado, Ganawuri, Riyom Local Government Area, the group lauded the governor’s efforts in supporting ongoing security operations.
The association extended its gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for providing the necessary resources and support to security agencies in the state, which it said had bolstered the success of their operations.
“The unmatched patriotism and professionalism demonstrated by the OPSH under Gen. Abubakar’s leadership have left a significant impact on the peace and security of the Plateau. This historic development will remain indelible in the annals of our history,” the statement added.
The BYM expressed optimism that the current momentum would be sustained, ensuring long-term peace and stability in Plateau State.
The association concluded by congratulating the leadership of Operation Safe Haven and reaffirming its confidence in their ability to continue safeguarding lives and property in the region.
