ECOWAS Commission condemns attempted coup in Niger
It was with amazement and dismay that ECOWAS became aware of the attempted coup in Niger.
It condemns in the most vigourous way this attempt to take power by force and calls on the perpetrators of this act to immediately and unconditionally release the democratically elected President of the Republic.
ECOWAS and the international community will hold all those involved in this act responsible for the safety and security of the President, members of his family.
