Farmer killed in Benue border community attack

A farmer has been shot dead by suspected armed herders in Ayilamo, Logo Local Government Area of Benue.

 

Sources said the victim, identified as Oryiman Kwagher, was attacked on Aug. 28 while working on his farm around Akwanna, a border community between Benue and Taraba states.

 

“Information received from Logo Division indicates that the victim was shot dead by suspected herders while in his farm.

 

“On receipt of the report, the Divisional Police Officer mobilised patrol and tactical teams to the scene. The corpse was photographed, evacuated and deposited at the Ayilamo Mortuary,”the sources  said.

 

The sources said that  police operatives were combing the surrounding bushes in search of the perpetrators, assuring that efforts were ongoing to arrest them.
