Fire destroys houses, kills 3 in Gombe

A fire incident triggered by a power surge destroyed many houses and left at least three people dead in Tudun wadan Pantami, Gombe local government area, Gombe state. 

 

Zagazola Makama learnt that the incident happened at about 1:40 a.m. on june 13, following a high voltage from the power holding company’s supply.

 

The  fire destroyed several houses and injured many people, including a permanent secretary in the state civil service and a lance corporal in the nigerian air force who was on pass. the identities of the victims were yet to be ascertained at the time of filing this report.

 

It was gathered team of police officers was subsequently deployed to the scene, where the corpses were recovered and deposited at specialist hospital gombe, while the injured were rushed to federal teaching hospital gombe for treatment. the state fire service was also called in and successfully put out the fire.
