Fulani bandits Kill Two Vigilantes in Plateau Community

Fulani bandits have killed two local vigilantes in Tahoss community of Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Security sources disclosed on Thursday that the victims were attacked in the early hours of the day while on their way to perform community security duties.
The victims were identified as Mr Dalyop Zaram and Mr Davou Dalyop.
According to the sources, troops deployed under Operation Enduring Peace responded to reports of the attack at about 12:30 a.m.
On arrival at the scene, security personnel discovered the corpses of the two men and subsequently secured the area.
The sources said preliminary investigations indicated that the assailants were suspected militia members.
A search of the scene led to the recovery of 25 empty shells of 7.62mm special ammunition, suggesting that the victims were shot at close range.
The bodies of the deceased were later released to their families for burial in accordance with local customs.
Security forces have since launched efforts to track down and apprehend those responsible for the attack.
Meanwhile, troops have continued routine patrols across the Joint Operations Area to protect communities, schools, places of worship and other critical national infrastructure.
The military authorities assured residents of their commitment to maintaining peace and security in the area and urged members of the public to provide credible information that could assist ongoing investigations.
