GOC 3 Division Visits Irigwe Traditional Ruler, Seeks Stronger Peace Efforts in Plateau

 The General Officer Commanding 3 Division and Commander, Operation ENDURING PEACE (OPEP), Maj. Gen. W.M. Dangana, has paid a courtesy visit to the Brra Ngwe of Irigwe in Miango, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Dangana, accompanied by the Commander, Sector 3 OPEP, visited the traditional ruler at about 3:30 p.m. on Aug. 19 as part of ongoing engagements with critical stakeholders in the Division’s area of responsibility.

During the visit, the GOC held discussions with the traditional ruler on prevailing security challenges in the area and measures to strengthen peace, security and stability within the community and adjoining areas.

The engagement focused on the importance of continued collaboration between traditional institutions, communities and security agencies in addressing emerging security threats and preventing conflicts.

The visit was concluded without incident.

The engagement is part of the military’s ongoing efforts to deepen civil-military cooperation and strengthen traditional and community-based support for peace and stability across Plateau State.
