Gov. Buni donates 22 patrol vehicles, 40 motorcycles to security agencies in Yobe

Gov. Mai Mala Buni of Yobe has donated 22 patrol vehicles and 40 motorcycles to security agencies operating in the state, as part of efforts to strengthen the fight against insecurity.

 

Zagazola Learnt that the donation, which took place in Damaturu, comprised 21 Jac Hilux patrol vehicles for all divisional police offices in the state and one for operations at the command headquarters.

 

Other agencies that benefited include the Nigerian Army Brigade, Department of State Services (DSS), Nigeria Immigration Service, Nigeria Correctional Service, National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) and the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), which received one vehicle each.

 

In addition, the governor presented 40 motorcycles to the Vigilante Group, 10 motorcycles to the Nigerian Army, and one motorcycle each to the 17 local government councils in the state.

 

Buni said the gesture was in appreciation of the sacrifices of security agencies in maintaining law and order across Yobe.

 

The Police Command, on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, commended the governor for the support and pledged to redouble its efforts to sustain the relative peace in the state.

 

Meanwhile, security agencies have assured that the state remains calm and under close surveillance.
