Governor Nasir Idris Visits Families of Bandit Attack Victims in Kebbi, Donates N50m

Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has paid a condolence visit to families of victims of a recent bandit attack in Yola Ward, Augie Local Government Area, where 18 persons lost their lives.
The attack, which was allegedly carried out by suspected Lakurawa bandits, affected six villages Garu, Morai, Tungar Binnari, Tungar Mai Turu, Unguwar Ladan, and Unguwar Mai Rakumi.
During the visit on Sunday, Gov. Idris expressed deep sadness over the loss of lives and destruction caused by the assailants. He pledged the government’s commitment to ending bandit attacks in the area and ensuring lasting peace across the state.
The governor announced a donation of N50 million to support the affected families and ease their immediate burdens. He assured residents that the state government would intensify collaboration with security agencies to secure lives and property in the region.
“We will not fold our arms and watch our people being killed and displaced. We will do all within our power to ensure these attacks are stopped and the perpetrators brought to justice,” the governor said.
Receiving the governor, the member representing Augie Constituency in the Kebbi State House of Assembly and Chairman of Augie Local Government, Hon. Muhammed Sani Garba Tiggi, thanked him for the visit and the show of solidarity.
Also speaking, the Emir of Argungu, His Royal Highness Alhaji Samaila Muhammadu Mera, appreciated the governor’s timely intervention and support, describing it as a reassuring gesture to the grieving communities.
Dignitaries who accompanied the governor included former Governor Sa’idu Usman Nasamu Dakingari; Alhaji Abubakar Gari Malam; Honourable Bello Kaoje of the National Assembly; Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Abubakar Dutsin Mari; Honourable Samaila Yakubu Augie; Honourable Surajo Ibrahim Augie; and all district heads of Augie Local Government Area.
Community members expressed appreciation for the governor’s visit and support, praying for lasting peace and the repose of the souls of the deceased.
