Gunmen Kidnap Couple in Igboora, Mistaking Them for Landlord
A couple, Mr. and Mrs. Saheed, were abducted by gunmen in the early hours of Tuesday in Igboora, Oyo State, in what appears to be a case of mistaken identity.
According to Alhaji Suraju Ahmed, the landlord of the victims, the armed men stormed his residence in Ogboja area around 12:30 a.m., forcefully taking away his tenants, possibly mistaking them for him.
Upon receiving the report, the Divisional Police Officer of Igboora mobilized a joint security operation involving police operatives, Amotekun personnel, local vigilantes, and hunters. A search of the surrounding bushes was immediately launched, with reinforcement from the Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit.
One live and nine expended rounds of ammunition were recovered from the scene, while geo-location tracking has been activated to trace the kidnappers’ whereabouts.
