A violent dispute between a herder and two young men over cattle grazing in Angwan Doka II, Mararaba Area of Karu Local Government Area, Nasarawa State, has led to the deaths of two individuals.

Zagazola Makama understands that the incident occurred on April 27, 2025, at about 1:00 p.m. when the herder’s cattle reportedly ate flowers belonging to one Arigu David, aged 21.

This led to an argument between the two, which escalated when the herder attacked David with a machete, killing him instantly.

A friend of the deceased, Michael Snu, aged 34, who attempted to intervene, was also attacked by the same herder.

Snu sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the Mararaba Medical Centre, where he was confirmed dead by a medical doctor.

Security sources said the bodies of the victims have been deposited at the hospital morgue, and investigations are ongoing.

Efforts to arrest the fleeing suspect are still underway.
