Kano businessman abducted in Nasarawa

A Kano-based businessman, Alhaji Rabiu Salisu, has been abducted by unknown gunmen in Rukubi Village, Doma Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
The Nasarawa State Police Command confirmed the incident on Friday, saying it was reported at about 4:30 p.m. by one Murtala Abubakar of Olam Company, Rukubi Village.
Police sources said Salisu, who hails from Kano State, was on his way from Rukubi Village when he was kidnapped by the assailants.
“The Divisional Police Officer of Ekye Division, on receipt of the report, mobilised a team of policemen in collaboration with local vigilantes to the scene,” the command said.
It added that the surrounding bushes were combed, while search-and-rescue efforts were ongoing to locate and free the victim and arrest those responsible.
The police urged members of the public to provide any useful information that could aid the operation.
