The Ogun State Police Command has launched a manhunt for a community leader popularly known as “Youngest Baale” following the death of a man who collapsed after allegedly trying to recover his seized motorcycle.

Zagazola report that the incident occurred in the Imode area of Ewekoro Local Government Area.

Police sources told Zagazola Makama that the matter was reported on Friday by a resident of Omoboriowo Street in Ejio Town.

It was gathered that the deceased, identified as Isiaka Kazeem, had been pleading with “Youngest Baale” since July 20 for the release of his TVS motorcycle, which the Baale allegedly seized unlawfully.

A family member of the deceased  told the police that his brother had gone to the Baale’s house multiple times without success. On July 24, during another attempt to plead for the return of the motorcycle, Kazeem was once again refused. On his way back home, he reportedly slumped and died on the road.

Police detectives visited the residence of the said Baale, but he was not found. The scene was processed, and the corpse was evacuated and deposited at the State Hospital Ifo mortuary for post-mortem examination.

He added that efforts were ongoing to arrest the suspect and recover the seized motorcycle.
