Man stabs cousin to death during fight in Benue

A 25-year-old man, Abdulraman Rabiu, for allegedly stabbing his cousin, Adamu Abubakar, to death during a fight in Makurdi.

 

Zagazola learnt that the incident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday at Lafia Garage, North Bank area of Makurdi.

 

A police sources said “It was reported that the suspect stabbed his 35-year-old cousin, Adamu Abubakar, during a physical altercation between them. 

 

The sources added that after the incident, an angry mob descended on the suspect and beat him severely before he was rescued and taken to Divine Love Hospital, Low Level, Makurdi, for treatment.

 

“Both the suspect and the victim were taken to the same hospital where Adamu was confirmed dead while receiving treatment,” the report stated.

 

Police said that the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for further investigation.
