The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has carried out a series of precision airstrikes under Operation FANSAN YAMMA Sector 1, neutralizing scores of terrorists and disrupting their logistics and regrouping efforts in Niger State.
The operations, conducted between June 24 and 26, were carried out in close coordination with ground troops and other security agencies following credible intelligence on terrorist activities in Kakihun and Kumbashi communities.
Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information at NAF Headquarters, said in a statement on Friday that the strikes were aimed at terrorists responsible for recent attacks and cattle rustling incidents in the affected areas.
“Acting on actionable intelligence and leveraging inter-service and inter-agency synergy, NAF air assets were swiftly deployed. Multiple waves of precision strikes were executed, leading to the destruction of terrorist enclaves, neutralization of several fighters, and the prevention of further regrouping,” the statement said.
The NAF noted that the successful operation is a demonstration of its professionalism, rapid response capability, and commitment to safeguarding civilian lives and property.
It reaffirmed the force’s unwavering resolve to support national efforts in restoring peace and security across the country.
“The Nigerian Air Force remains committed to the protection of all Nigerians and will continue to collaborate with sister services and relevant stakeholders to ensure lasting peace,” the statement added.
