NDLEA shooting  leaves 25-year-old man dead in Lagos raid

A 25-year-old man, identified as Muhammed Bello, was allegedly shot dead during a raid by officers of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency in the Makoko area of Lagos State.

 

Sources told Zagazola that the incident occurred at about 5:00 p.m. on March 13 at Church Street in Makoko.

 

According to the sources, a distress call was received indicating that officers of the anti-narcotics agency, who were conducting a raid on a suspected drug house, allegedly shot Bello in the head during the operation.

 

The officers were said to have fled the scene immediately after the shooting.

 

Following the alert, a team of police officers was swiftly deployed to the area to contain the situation and assess the circumstances surrounding the incident.

 

On arrival, the police found Bello lying lifeless on the ground. Photographs of the scene were taken as part of preliminary documentation.

 

The body was subsequently evacuated and deposited at a public morgue for preservation and autopsy.

 

Police authorities said investigations were ongoing to determine the exact circumstances that led to the shooting.

 

They added that the state command of the NDLEA had been contacted to assist in identifying the officers involved in the operation.

 

Authorities assured that appropriate action would be taken upon the conclusion of the investigation.
