Nigerian Troops rescued 2 farmers from Boko Haram after fierce gunbattle

The Troops of 73 Battalion of the Nigerian Army, Operations Hadin Kai have reportedly rescued two farmers, Alkali Jidda and Wakil Abiso, from Boko Haram Terrorists after a fierce gun duel near Maiduguri, the capital of the North Eastern Borno state.
The incident occured on July 22, when six insurgents, each in possession of an Ak 47 riffle dressed in black attacked the victims while in their farm and whisked them away at gun point toward the axis of Bale Fatima.
An Intelligence Sources told Zagazola Makama, a Counter Insurgency Expert and Security Analyst in Lake Chad, that the troops in conjunction with hunters and the Civilian JTF swiftly mobilised and stormed the general area in pursuit of the insurgents.
The sources said that the troops later came in contact with the terrorists at Guru guru village, located few kilometres to Kayamla. Upon sighting the rescue team, a fire fight ensued for about 30 minutes which forced the Boko Haram to abandon the victims and fled.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the insurgents paraded the farmers at Bale Fatima and selected the two rescued victims who are known to be to working with a Businessman in Maiduguri.
"It was therefore deduced that the insurgents Operation was with the end to of holding the victims captive for pecuniary gains," he said.
