Notorious Armed Bandit Arrested in Katsina, Kidnapped Victim Rescued

A major breakthrough was achieved by the Katsina State Police Command with the arrest of a notorious armed bandit and suspected kidnapper, Abubakar Umar, also known as Abu Dankano.
Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that three arrest, which took place on March 29, 2025, followed a complaint from parent of the victim who reported the abduction of their 25-year-old son, Badamasi Isiyaka, on March 1, 2025.
According to the victim’s family, on March 3, 2025, the kidnappers contacted them via phone, demanding a ransom of thirty million Naira for the release of Badamasi.
Acting on this information, police detectives swiftly launched an investigation that led to the arrest of Umar, 26, from Shimfida Forest in Jibia LGA.
During questioning, Umar confessed to being the mastermind behind the kidnapping and revealed that he had been collaborating with notorious bandits, including Bello Turji, Dankarami, Na-Mardiyya, and Black.
The victim was successfully rescued, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend the other members of the gang involved in the crime.
