Notorious bandit arrested in Plateau after shooting wife

A suspected bandit, Abubakar Ibrahim, has been arrested in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State for allegedly shooting his wife with a locally fabricated rifle.
The arrest was made in the early hours of July 2 following credible intelligence, according to sources familiar with the development.
Ibrahim, a resident of Daffo District in Bokkos LGA, was apprehended with the firearm allegedly used in the shooting.
Preliminary findings revealed that on June 22, 2025, the suspect shot his wife, Hadiza Abubakar, who is currently receiving treatment at Dung Hospital in Bokkos.
Police sources say the suspect is said to be undergoing interrogation as investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding the incident and possible links to other criminal activities in the area.
