Ogun State: Seven students arrested over unrest at Ikija High School, Iberekodo

Seven students have been arrested following a violent incident at Ikija High School, Iberekodo, Ogun State, authorities confirmed.

 

The school principal, Mrs. Fadoju Oluwaseyi, reported that the incident occurred around 12:30 p.m. on March 4, 2026, when a disagreement between two students, Abdul Lateef Musad and Yusuf Taofeek, both aged 17, escalated into a brawl. 

 

The altercation quickly spiraled into widespread unrest, with students stoning school property and assaulting teachers.

 

Upon receiving the report, patrol teams were deployed to the scene. The students reportedly hurled stones and other objects at security personnel, resulting in damage to the windscreen of a patrol van.

 

Seven students were apprehended and taken to the station for interrogation. The situation was subsequently brought under control, and monitoring of the school continues. 

 

The suspects are expected to be charged to court upon completion of the investigation.
