One Dead, Several Injured in Multiple Accident at Karu Bridge, Abuja

One person has been confirmed dead and several others injured in a multiple motor accident involving four vehicles at Karu Bridge, near the Karu Water Board, Abuja.

 

Sources told Zagazola Makama that the  accident, which occurred at about 2:20 p.m. on Friday, was reported to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Zebra Unit Karu.

 

According to the sources, the crash involved a Dangote truck loaded with cement and three other vehicles. The driver of the Dangote truck is said to be on the run.

 

The deceased, identified as the truck’s motor boy, was rushed to Customs Hospital Karu where he was confirmed dead on arrival. His name and address were not immediately known.

 

Other vehicles involved in the accident include a Hi-Jet mini truck (unregistered); a Mercedes Benz CLS350 with registration number RBC 76 MN, driven by Ibrahim Mohammed Aliyu of Karu; a Ford H (2017 model) with registration number ABC 04 GB, driven by Ademola Odumaki of Lungi Barracks; and a Toyota Corolla with registration number RSH 957 AW, driven by Victor Nwanneka of Karu Extension.

 

Several occupants of the vehicles sustained varying degrees of injuries and are currently receiving treatment at nearby hospitals.
