One Killed in Kogi Communal Clash Over Disputed Fish Pond

A communal clash between Katubo and Ugwo communities over a disputed fish pond in the Mozu-Ette area of Kogi State has resulted in the death of one person.

 

The incident, which occurred on March 29, 2025, was reported to the police by the Ohimege of Koto. Security personnel were swiftly mobilized officers to the scene and was able to restore order.

 

Unfortunately, during the clash, one Mohammed Galadima, a resident of Pareke Community, was shot dead. His community declined an autopsy, and he was buried according to Islamic rites.

 

Authorities have since invited leaders of the warring communities to the palace of the Ohimege of Koto for a peace dialogue.
