Police arrest robbery suspect in Mpape, Abuja

The Police Command in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has arrested a 19-year-old armed robbery suspect in Mpape area of Abuja.
Sources said that at about 3 a.m. on Monday, some hoodlums armed with dangerous weapons invaded a residence in the Labamba area of Mpape and robbed the occupants, identified as Okechukwu Kalu, Chidera Emmanuela, Blessing Adesua, and Sodiq Adeola, of their phones and other valuables.
According to the sources, following receipt of the distress report, police operatives immediately swung into action.
“At about 10 a.m. additional intelligence revealed the presence of one of the suspects within the community. The police team mobilised to the location and arrested the suspect, identified as Yasir Ibrahim, aged 19.
“During interrogation, the suspect confessed to the crime and mentioned one Abba Danshiri, currently at large, as his accomplice,” said sources.
The sources added that efforts were ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspect and recover the stolen items.
