Police Arrest Two Suspected Boko Haram Members in Gombe

The Gombe State Police Command has arrested two suspected Boko Haram members believed to have been involved in the recent attack on Garkida town in Gombi Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

 

Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the  suspects, Abubakar Mohammed, 22, and Abubakar Usman, 20, both residents of Lawanti area in Akko Local Government Area of Gombe State, were apprehended on Feb. 14 at about 1:00 a.m. at Rocket Hotel, New Mile 3, along Yola Road.

 

The operation was carried out by a team from Operation Hattara based on credible intelligence provided by members of the ADS Hunters Group, Abubakar S. Gombi and Umar Bukar.

 

A search conducted on the suspects led to the recovery of N63,000 in cash, charms, and men’s clothing contained in a small black bag. No weapons were found during the arrest.

 

The sources said that the suspects would soon be handed over to the 301 Artillery Regiment for further investigation.
