Police raid criminal hideouts in Benue, arrest 10 suspects

The Police Command in Benue on Saturday said it arrested 10 suspects during a raid on criminal hideouts and black spots in Ogbadigbo Local Government Area of the state.

 

 

Sources said that the operation was carried out on Friday by the Orokam Divisional Police Office, which stormed hideouts within Orokam town following intelligence reports.

 

“During the raid, 10 male suspects were arrested. A locally fabricated pistol with one live cartridge was recovered from them,” he said.

 

He listed the suspects as Mohammed Hassan, 18; ThankGod Apah, 20; James Noah, 18; Victor Michael, 23; Umar Abdullahi, 24; and Abdullahi Garba, 31, all residents of Ade-Igwa Trailer Park, Orokam.

 

Sources  said the case had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for further investigation.

 

The sources  added that the command remained committed to sustaining its operations against criminal elements across the state.

 

The raid is part of ongoing efforts by the police to curb cultism, armed robbery and other crimes in Benue communities.
