The Kogi State Police Command has rescued two victims of kidnapping in Iyasa Forest following a targeted operation by joint security forces.

Zagazola report that on Feb. 26, acting on credible intelligence, mobilized joint security personnel at about 10:39 a.m. to conduct a rescue mission in the forest, where the abductors were believed to be holding their victims.

The operation involved intensive bush combing and the use of teargas, which forced the kidnappers to abandon their captives and flee the scene.

The rescued victims were identified as Abdulhadi Nasiru, a male from Adogo, and Kabiru Bature, a male from Apanko. However, one victim, Ibrahim Bature, remained unaccounted for, the sources added.

Statements from the rescued victims have been obtained, and investigations into the abduction are ongoing.

Police said intelligence gathering and surveillance operations were continuing with the aim of recovering the remaining victim and apprehending the suspects.

The command assured that further developments would be communicated as the operation progresses.
