The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has successfully secured the release of two women, Fati Omale and Zainab Ibrahim, who were abducted in the early hours of Tuesday from Aco Mbawpe, Iddo community.

The  victims were kidnapped at about 2:10 a.m. on July 23, but were released unhurt later the same day at approximately 10:00 p.m., following intense pressure mounted by police operatives deployed to the area.

Police sources told Zagazola Makama that the timely response, intelligence tracking, and sustained operations by tactical teams contributed to the breakthrough.

“The victims were released unhurt due to the swift action and relentless pressure on the abductors by our men. We are now intensifying efforts to track and apprehend the fleeing suspects,”said the sources.

Police say that the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) has since taken over the case for thorough investigation and to ensure that those behind the abduction are brought to justice.

The police have also urged residents of Iddo and neighbouring communities to remain vigilant and report suspicious movements to security agencies.
