Sea Pirates Attack Boat, Kidnap Crew in Rivers State

Suspected sea pirates have attacked a speedboat and kidnapped its operator and two crew members along the New Calabar River in Degema Local Government Area of Rivers State.

 

Sources told Zagazola Makama that the  incident, which occurred on March 26, 2025, when a 23-speed boat, named “H.J. Miracle”, with an 85hp and 75hp Yamaha outboard engine, was traveling from Elem-Kalabari to Port Harcourt when it was ambushed by sea pirates.

 

The boat operator, Lucky Isokariari, and his two crew members, Mmamam Fynface and Hope Georgewill, were kidnapped, and the attackers fled with the boat to an unknown location.

 

The kidnappers have reportedly contacted the boat owner through the operator’s phone, demanding ₦10 million as ransom for their release.
