Suspect arrested in Nafada for alleged terrorist threat

Police in Nafada, Gombe State, have arrested a 33-year-old man for allegedly plotting attacks on local government and community leaders.

Zagazola learnt that at about 12:00 p.m. on Jan. 29, officers at Barwo Nasarawo Outpost discovered a handwritten note by Sani Alhaji Abdu, a resident of the same village, claiming he was a member of a terrorist group.

“The note indicated that another group from Ngalda in Yobe State was planning to send him to attack the Chairman of Nafada LGA, his DSO, the District Head of Barwo Nasarawo, the Ward Councilor, Madaki of Barwo Nasarawo, and the Divisional Police Officer, Nafada,” the source said.

Police operatives promptly swung into action and arrested the suspect. Investigation is ongoing, and security measures have been heightened in the area to prevent any untoward incident.

The command urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to security authorities.
