The Governor of Tahoua Region, Colonel-Major Souleymane Amadou Moussa, visited Air Base 401 at Tahoua Airport on Monday following a terrorist attack on the facility.

The attack reportedly occurred on Monday night at about 3:05 a.m., targeting the military installation, which hosts the Nigerien Air Force’s strategic assets.

The governor was accompanied by regional heads of the Saharan Defence Forces (SDF) and members of the Refundation Advisory Council, who inspected the site and assessed the extent of the damage caused by the attack.

Authorities said the visit was aimed at boosting morale among military personnel, evaluating security measures, and ensuring rapid restoration of operational capacity at the base.
