Three suspected Bandits lynched by mob in Benue community

The Benue State Police Command has confirmed the lynching of three suspected robbers by youths of Maav-Ya community in Nyihemba, Kwande Local Government Area.

 

Zagazola Makama gathered that the  incident, which occurred on July 15 at about 11:00 a.m., involved the mob arresting the suspects Zwanen Terzungwe, Iordepuu Gwa, and Aondongu Terna and taking them to the community council hall, where they were beaten to death.

 

Security forces were mobilized to the scene upon receiving the information, but the youths involved in the mob action had fled before the arrival of the police.

 

The corpses of the deceased suspects were evacuated and deposited at the Kwande General Hospital mortuary.

 

Security forces condemned the act of jungle justice and reiterated that no one has the right to take the law into their hands, regardless of the allegations against an individual.

 

Efforts are ongoing to identify and apprehend those responsible for the mob action.
