Troops arrest 10 suspected terrorist logistics suppliers transporting cattle in Borno

Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have arrested 10 suspected Boko Haram logistics suppliers and collaborators while transporting cattle suspected to be destined for terrorist elements in Borno State.
Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the suspects were intercepted at about 11:40 a.m. on July 26 during a joint intelligence-led operation by troops of the 135 Special Forces Battalion, supported by members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) and local vigilantes in Kurnari.
The sources said the suspects were intercepted while travelling to Miringa Market with five cows believed to be intended for supply to Boko Haram terrorists operating in the area.
The group was led by Mallam Wada Isah, 35, while the remaining nine suspects, whose identities were being documented, are all said to be indigenes of Azare in Hawul Local Government Area of Borno State.
Items recovered during the operation included five cows, two tricycles, nine mobile phones, two waist bags, one knife, and ₦12,600 in cash, among other personal effects.
Military sources said the suspects and the recovered exhibits were subsequently handed over to the 27 Task Force Brigade for further investigation and necessary action.
The arrest is part of ongoing intelligence-driven operations under Operation Desert Sanity V aimed at dismantling the logistics and supply chains sustaining Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists across the North-East.
The sources added that while the general security situation across the theatre remains relatively calm, it is still unpredictable, with troops maintaining high morale and sustaining offensive operations against terrorist elements and their support networks.
