Troops deployed under Sector 2 Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force, have arrested five suspected kidnappers during a raid on a criminal hideout in Nasarawa State.
Security sources said that the operation was carried out at about 11:20 a.m. on May 7, 2026, at Mada area of Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area, following credible intelligence.
The sources said troops, operating from Gudi, swiftly mobilised alongside police operatives to storm the suspected kidnappers’ hideout, where five suspects were apprehended without resistance.
The arrested suspects were subsequently handed over to the Nigeria Police Force for further investigation and possible prosecution.
Military authorities said the operation was part of ongoing efforts under Operation Whirl Stroke to dismantle kidnapping networks and enhance security across Nasarawa State and adjoining areas.
They added that follow-up operations would continue to ensure other members of the criminal network are tracked down and arrested.
