Troops of Sector 1, Operation FANSAN YAMMA (OPFY), have arrested five suspected vandals allegedly involved in the theft and transportation of vandalised railway materials in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Security sources disclosed that the operation was conducted at about 9:00 p.m. on May 11 following intelligence on the movement of suspected vandals around Kakau community in the area.
According to the sources, troops swiftly mobilised and intercepted a trailer conveying suspected vandalised rail tracks during the operation.
“The troops intercepted the trailer loaded with vandalised rail tracks and arrested five suspects in connection with the act,” the source said.
The suspects were subsequently taken into custody for further investigation and possible prosecution.
The operation is part of ongoing efforts by security agencies to protect critical national infrastructure and curb economic sabotage across the country.
Security sources said troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA had continued intelligence-driven operations to dismantle criminal networks involved in vandalism, banditry and other forms of criminal activities within the North-West region.
