Troops arrest suspected car-snatching kingpin, recover pistol in Bwari

Troops of 7 Guards Battalion have arrested a suspected criminal kingpin in connection with a gunpoint car-snatching incident in Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Security sources said the arrest was made at about 4:45 p.m. on April 5 following an earlier incident that occurred on March 30 in the area.
According to the sources, the suspect was tracked and apprehended by troops as part of follow-up operations aimed at dismantling the criminal network behind the attack.
A pistol was recovered during the operation.
The suspect and recovered item are currently in the custody of the troops for further investigation and necessary action.
Security sources said the arrest forms part of ongoing efforts to curb violent crimes and enhance security in the FCT.
