Troops Arrest Suspected Cultist, Recover Weapons in Cross River

Troops of 13 Brigade have arrested a suspected notorious cultist and recovered weapons during an operation in Odukpani Local Government Area of Cross River State.
Security sources said the suspect was apprehended at about 11:00 p.m. on April 29 at a checkpoint within Camp 4 area of Pamol Plantation.
The sources disclosed that the troops intercepted the suspect during routine checks and recovered a locally made pistol, a machete, an axe, and a knife.
According to the sources, the suspect and the recovered items are currently in military custody for further investigation and necessary action.
They added that security operations have been intensified in the area to curb cult-related activities and other criminal acts.
