Troops Arrest Suspected ISWAP Member in Borno, Recover Items

Troops of 162 Amphibious Battalion have arrested a suspected member of ISWAP during a patrol operation along the Mandaragirau–Sabon Gari Road in Biu Local Government Area of Borno State.
Security sources said the suspect was apprehended at about 5:30 p.m. on June 12 during routine patrol operations in the area.
Following the arrest, troops recovered several items from the suspect, including 222 torchlights, five packs of tiger batteries, two bags of salt, 48 sachets of milk creamer, one carton of “Fresh Quick”, two packs of seasoning cubes, five blankets, one mosquito net, two mobile phones, and 15 cartons of herbicides, among other sundry items.
The sources said the suspect and the recovered items are currently in military custody for further investigation and possible prosecution.
Security authorities noted that patrols and surveillance operations have been intensified in the general area to disrupt suspected terrorist logistics and movement networks.
