Troops Arrest Suspected Kidnapper, Cattle Rustler in Borno

Troops of Operation HADIN KAI, in collaboration with local hunters and members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), have arrested a suspected kidnapper and cattle rustler in Biu Local Government Area of Borno State.
Security sources said that the suspect was apprehended on June 10 at Buratai Market following intelligence-led operations in the area.
According to the sources, troops of the 135 Special Forces Battalion, working with local security volunteers, arrested the suspect without incident.
Items recovered from the suspect included a mobile phone, a national identity card and N70,000 in cash, among other personal effects.
The sources said the suspect and the recovered items were subsequently handed over to the appropriate authorities for further investigation and necessary action.
They added that the arrest forms part of ongoing efforts by security agencies and local stakeholders to combat kidnapping, cattle rustling and other criminal activities in communities across southern Borno State.
