Troops arrest suspected kidnapper during operation in Edo forest

Troops of 4 Brigade, Nigerian Army, in conjunction with the Nigeria Police and local hunters, have arrested a suspected kidnapper during a joint offensive operation in Owan East Local Government Area of Edo State.
Security sources said the operation was conducted at about 8:20 a.m. on May 27 at the Erha Forest, Ishiolili Forest and Rugan Fulani areas of the council area.
The sources disclosed that one suspect was apprehended during the operation.
Items recovered from the suspect included two dane guns, one laptop with a charger, seven mobile phones, four SIM cards, five identity cards, one phone charger, substances suspected to be hard drugs and two jack knives.
According to the sources, the suspect and recovered exhibits are currently in troops’ custody for further investigation and necessary action.
The operation was part of ongoing efforts by security agencies to tackle kidnapping and other criminal activities in parts of Edo State.
