Troops arrest two herders over alleged farm destruction in Plateau

Troops of Sector 1, Sub-Sector 12, Operation ENDURING PEACE, have arrested two herders following a report of alleged farm destruction at Daga Village in Jos East Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The incident occurred at about 6:30 a.m. on Sept. 3, 2026, when troops deployed at Angware responded to a report of destruction of farm crops in the community.
Upon arrival at the scene, the troops arrested two suspected herders identified as 19-year-old Aliyu Adamu and 20-year-old Danjuma Adamu.
According to security sources, the two suspects were taken into custody as part of efforts to facilitate an amicable resolution of the dispute and prevent possible escalation between farmers and herders.
The development forms part of ongoing efforts by Operation ENDURING PEACE to address farmer-herder disputes through dialogue and other non-kinetic measures while maintaining security across vulnerable communities in Plateau State.
