Troops Arrest Vigilante Member Spying for ISWAP Terrorists in Yobe

Troops of Sector 2 Mobile Intervention Battalion (MIB), in collaboration with local hunters, have arrested a suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP informant in Damaturu Local Government Area of Yobe State.
Military sources said the suspect, identified as Alhaji Ibrahim, 42, was arrested at about 3:05 p.m. on May 25 following intelligence reports on his alleged communication and activities with terrorist elements.
According to the sources, the suspect is a vigilante attached to Government Girls Unity College (GGUC), Damaturu.
The sources disclosed that the suspect hails from Ahajiri village in Maisandari Ward of Damaturu Local Government Area.
“Sometimes, the greatest threat to a community comes not from outsiders, but from insiders who betray their people by collaborating with terrorists and exposing innocent lives to danger.”said the sources.
They added that the suspect was currently in the custody of Sector 2 for further investigation.
