Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA have foiled an attempted attack on Maje village in Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State, preventing possible abduction and further violence.
Security sources said the incident occurred at about 10:00 p.m. on April 7 when troops of Sub-Sector 4 responded to reports of sporadic gunfire by suspected terrorists in the community.
On arrival, the troops reportedly advanced towards the scene, prompting the attackers to flee into nearby bushes on sighting the security presence.
The troops subsequently engaged residents to ascertain the situation, with locals confirming that no one was abducted during the incident.
Sources said the swift response by the troops helped to avert what could have escalated into a major attack on the community.
Troops have since continued to dominate the general area with sustained patrols aimed at denying the criminals freedom of action and preventing further threats.
